Safety Policy Statement

The management of the Georgia Ports Authority recognizes the health and safety of its employees is of paramount importance to the success of the Authority.  Employees have a right to expect a safe and healthy working environment and safe job methods and practices.  Therefore, we hold safety and health as our highest values.

GPA Managers and Supervisors are fully responsible for maintaining safe and healthy working conditions and for the implementation of the Georgia Ports Authority safety programs within their respective departments.

Employees are expected to follow safe work practices and procedures and adhere to all safety rules.  All employees must take an active role in protecting themselves, fellow workers and the GPA.  Employees are expected to detect and report unsafe conditions, practices, and behaviors in the workplace.

We must all realize that no job is so important that we cannot take the time to perform it safely.  Together we can make the GPA a safer and more efficient workplace.

"PARTNERSHIP IN SAFETY"
