Mission Statement

  • To increase students’ knowledge and awareness of the Georgia Ports Authority and its economic impact on the state of Georgia; 
  • To encourage participation in programs, services and tours offered by the ports of Georgia; and 
  • To communicate effectively with students enrolled in Georgia's schools, colleges and universities and technical institutions.

Business-Education Partnership Program

The Georgia Ports Authority is pleased to be associated with the Business-Education Partnership Program, sponsored jointly by Savannah-Chatham Public Schools and the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce.

As a participant of the Business-Education Partnership Program, the Georgia Ports Authority:

  • Fosters positive school-community relations; 
  • Enhances academic instruction; 
  • Creates broad-based support for the public education system; and 
  • Provides opportunities for students to develop desirable work-related skills and attitudes. 

As a Business-Education Partner, the Georgia Ports Authority has proudly maintained a long-term business partnership with Pooler Elementary School.

Career Fairs
The Georgia Ports Authority participates in career fairs throughout Georgia to assist students in learning more about employment opportunities available at the deepwater ports located in Savannah and Brunswick and inland barge terminals in Bainbridge and Columbus. Personnel Resources
The Georgia Ports Authority participates in career awareness and job readiness programs. Port representatives actively participate in educational forums and student-for-a-day activities. For additional information, contact the External Affairs Division.
