Grieg Star Lygra Delivers Project Cargo to Brunswick

Grieg Star Shipping recently delivered several pieces of project cargo to the Port of Brunswick.

The shipping line delivered equipment to be used as part of a 50-megawatt biomass plant in Albany, Ga. Constellation Energy, doing business as Albany Green Energy, will own and operate the $200 million facility.

The plant will provide 60 percent to 70 percent of the total energy needs for the Procter and Gamble facility in Albany, Ga., doubling the use of renewable energy currently used at the plant.

DRT Expands into the U.S.

Based in Southwestern France, DRT specializes in pine chemistry and uses natural and renewable raw materials, primarily turpentine from pine trees, to produce a wide variety of products including ingredients for perfumes, resins used in adhesives and chewing gum, and many others. The new facility will be the company’s first U.S. production facility. DRT’s U.S. subsidiary, DRT America LLC, will operate the plant.

LINDE + WIEMANN to create 200 new jobs, will invest more than $35M in Hart County

German-based LINDE + WIEMANN GmbH KG, a leading manufacturer of complex structural steel systems to automotive OEM’s worldwide, will establish a U.S.-based assembly operation with associated national sales and distribution activities in Hart county, Ga. The company’s first facility will initially employ approximately 200 people and represent a capital investment of more than $35 million.

“LINDE + WIEMANN’s decision to locate their U.S.-based operation in Hart County sends a strong message about Georgia’s business-friendly climate,” said Gov. Deal. “This announcement indicates Northeast Georgia as a hub for the manufacturing of products that are vital to major automotive industry leaders worldwide.”
