To: Users of Georgia Ports Authority Tariff #5
Effective April 1, 2008, the Georgia Ports Authority will be revising the below rules of Terminal Tariff No. 5. Details are as follows:
RULE 34-010 CONSENT TO THE TERMS OF THE TARIFF
Added language concerning the Authority's inland terminals
RULE 34-020 APPLICATION FOR BERTH
Added language requiring the vessel or agent to provide the vessel manifest and load orders within five (5) consecutive days of vessel departure date.
RULE 34-055 EXPLOSIVE, FLAMMABLE, OR OBJECTIONABLE CARGO
Added language covering the inclusion of commodities containing ammonium nitrate under this rule.
RULE 34-095 PAYMENT OF CHARGES AND INVOICES
Clarified what is meant by "Customer" by adding "party which as been invoiced".
RULE34-160 GENERAL DEFINITIONS
Added a definition for "Liner Vessel"
RULE 34-180 MINIMUM CHARGES
Removed unnecessary language from this rule
RULE 34-250 SEGREGATION OF CARGO
Clarified how the rate for segregation of cargo is determined
RULES 34-355 & 34-420 VEHICLES, AIRCRAFT AND PARTS
Increased the handling rates on vehicles. Also changed the storage rates to a "per ton" basis rather than "per unit"
Added the specific commodity "Trailers" to both of these rules, along with the applicable rates.
RULE 34-489 PRE-ADVICE REQUIREMENT ON CONTAINERS RECEIVED VIA RAIL
Changed the language from "rail terminal repositioning: in this rule to "Supplemental Rail Lift" to reflect consistency with the Authority's Tariff No. 10.
RULE 34-505 CONTAINER DEFINITIONS
Added definitions for "Rigging Fee", "Supplemental Rail Lift" , and modified the definition for "Weighing".
RULE 34-520 CONTAINER CHARGES
Added charges for the new services of "Rigging" and "Supplemental Rail Lift". Also added rates for weighing containers after they have arrived for export, and either placed in a wheeled or stack location.
